About

I’ve created this website because I love to take pictures. My long term goal for this site is to start publishing photography tips and tutorials to help people learn photography. So stay tuned!
Who is DigitalRedEye?
My name is Rick R. Duncan and I’m the guy behind the camera and this website. I’ve been a shutter bug for over 20 years. I consider myself to be a semi-pro photographer. I do not make my living from photography although I do pick up a few paid gigs on occasion.
Professionally
I currently enjoy a successful career with SnagAJob.com as their SEO Marketing Manager. When I first arrived at SnagAJob.com in February of 2006 I worked as a Senior Software Engineer.
My past experiences include:
- Team Lead/Senior Software Engineer with Royall & Company.
- Senior Software Engineer with CarMax.com.
- Software Engineer with Whitlockebs (now IronWorks)
- Software Engineer with NationsBank (now BankofAmerica).
Project365
I’m sad to say that I was not able to keep Project 365 alive for all of 2010. After being deathly ill for 3 days straight I was never able to get back into the swing of things. Now instead of participating in Project365 I’ve decided to try Project52. I think I can handle taking one photo a week. With that said, the same goals apply to Project52 as the ones I laid out for Project365. They are as follows:
- Become a better photographer
- Document my
dailyweekly life in pictures - Learn to see a photograph where others see nothing
- Learn to use my equipment better
- Take lots more pictures
- Learn advanced photography techniques
